Happy new 2014!

First and foremost, many apologises everyone for the lack of updates! Christmas was filled with too much food and drink and of course my experience of celebrating the festive season in Spain made me realise how long Christmas really is! The celebrations carried on all the way into January!

So now the celebrations are over and it's time to delve into a new year! A fantastic new year which I have many good ideas to sink my teeth into. Of course, I cannot reveal any spoilers for you but for now we shall kick things off with a much belated video from myself!
Back in November 2013, I unofficially took part in Movember! So the beard came off for the first time in about 4 years! Forgetting I had dimples on my cheeks and also forgetting how rosy my face gets and also realising how cold it is in November! But this was done for a very good cause and I believe awareness is being made for my half marathon run next month! It seems to be creeping up on me, slowly but surely!

Remember everyone, you can still donate! My run takes place on February 16th! All proceeds go to Scope! A very worthy cause indeed and the growing of my face fungus and running 23 miles will be so worth your while! https://www.justgiving.com/lewis-mckale

To wrap things up, I am playing the Hope in Brighton next Tuesday, 28th January. It is downstairs and FREE! I am playing last at 10.30pm! See you there.

Tis the season...!

First and foremost, thankss to all of your support on my shot at Movember! A video will be posted up soon for you to have a good laugh at! Thanks for all your donations, please keep them coming!

So as we approach the end of 2013 and as we endure the cold, brave the Christmas shopping and prepare the mould wine, and wrap up the presents, I thought it would be appropriate to wrap up this year! (See what I did there!)

Speaking of Christmas shoppers, I did my first ever busking session for the shoppers of George Street in Hove...actually, last Saturday. I had a great time, lots of friendly passers by, a really good atmosphere and was great to see friendly faces all getting into the spirit of things.

So last weekend was also quite a busy one, as well as busking, I also met up with my good friend, Mr Rhys Bendix-Lewis to start shooting a new music video for, Prove You Wrong. It was fantastic to work with Rhys again. Always such a pleasure to work with and I won't give away too much but I can reveal that it does also feature some familiar faces such as Kirst Jefferey, Tom Clear andd Amy Crosby!
I cannot wait to see the final product but it is still in production and will be finished very early 2014!

Take a look at my new band! What do you all think?

If you like what you've seen, please subscribe to my Instagram! http://instagram.com/lewis_mckale

That's all for now but don't worry, there will be some more updates from me before I jet off to Spain for Christmas until the new year! (I'm too excited it is unreal right now!)

Just to let you all know, after much hard work and patience and blood, sweat and even tears! I can proudly announce that my first two EP's are finally on Spotify! It has been a very long process indeed but it has finally paid off!
Please click on the follow button and then click the link to have a listen below and share the love, after it's nearly Christmas ;)

Mucky Mondays @ The Mucky Duck, Brighton and Movember update!

Please come down to The Mucky Duck on Monday 2nd of December and as it is that time of the year already...I may even play a couple of Christmas tunes for good measure.

So we are approaching the end of November and that means Movember is nearing the end! I am now trying to decide on whether I should stay with the tash or grow my beard back?
I would like to thanks those of you who have so far donated me for not only my tash growing skills but of course my training towards my 14 mile run next year for the Brighton half marathon. There is still time to make a donation, please follow the link below and donate kindly to a great cause.

Now...I must tash! Do I pun as good as I run? Okay that's enough!

DVD's, Gigs and Moustaches!

So the past few weeks have been rather eventful to say the least. Firstly, I sold a batch of my brand new DVD for The Bigger Picture EP, which I must say I am quite proud of. I hope all of you that brought a copy have enjoyed it!
The Good news is that I will be releasing a load more! I am currently hard at work making them myself completely from scratch! If I had my own little factory, I would have my minions hard at work making millions of copies and making me a multi billionaire...but of course it is only me doing this alone, so please next time you see me, just say the word and I will give you a copy.

Please excuse the bedsheets in the image below...they were clean! Honest!

The DVD includes all the stop motion lyric videos for each track from The Bigger Picture EP and it also includes a "making of" video which includes footage from the studio when this EP was made and also has an interactive menu!

I will be playing the following dates, which I can only say I'm very excited about! So if you are looking to get your hands on one of these DVD's then come and find me at these venues on the following dates!

20th November - Hush Hush @ The Western Front, Brighton
21st November - Folk Off Sessions @ The Fiddlers Elbow, Brighton
1st December - The World's End, Brighton
2nd December - Mucky Duck, Brighton

And one last thing and by no means least, I am currently participating in Movember this year! So about 11 days ago I said farewell to my beard! It has been about nearly 4 years since I brought a razor to my face and had a nice clean shave! Seeing my bare face after all these years was certainly a shock to the system indeed!
Unfortunately I don't have a Mo' Space but I am however doing this for a different charity! the reason for this, is because I am running a 14 mile half marathon next February in Brighton! I have been training my arse off for the past couple of months and am getting the knack of it! Being able to find out that I can run 5 miles in 50 miles has been quite an achievement I must say!
But...there will be more information on that a little later but for now I have a 'Tache to grow! Please please please if you have any spare coin, dollar, cash..any preferred currency...please click on the below link and donate whatever you please. I am raising money for Scope, it's a lovely charity that supports disabled people and is a very good cause, your donation will be most appreciated!

My training buddy and best mate, Rob Henshaw is also running this marathon with me. He is raising money for Rise which is a charity that supports victims of domestic abuse. Another great cause, please follow his link too.

To conclude things, please see below the first day of Movember for me! A stop motion video of my Movember journey is in progress! Watch this space....

The Bigger Picture DVD coming soon!

First and foremost, my first ever DVD will be released very soon! This will indeed be very exciting as it will showcase all the animated lyric videos for each track on my second EP! So if you are as excited about this as I am, then please stay tuned in the next couple of weeks for an update regarding it's release.

I have also been working on some new tracks lately for my third EP! They are all sounding great, I will be sending the demos to Mr Mike Anderson who will be once again be the producer. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I am excited to get back into the studio!

I have also had a meeting with Rhys Bendix-Lewis a couple of weeks ago to talk about the next music video for Prove You Wrong! We are looking to shoot it in December, so there will be many exciting things to look forward to even towards the new year!

And to conclude things...I noticed the Thin White Duke, David Bowie had appeared on the front cover of NME magazine last week and in a photoshoot that was rather similar to a photo shoot I had with Pat Blann last year!
This has trully made my day! David Bowie is of course one of my Heroes! This will be my total claim to Fame! And it makes me feel like a Starman!

Okay...I'll stop!

Prove You Wrong (Lyric video)

So here it is folks! The last lyric video from The Bigger Picture EP! I hope you've enjoyed watching these videos as much as I have making them! Just so you also know, I'm currently working on compiling all the videos together for a DVD! More news on that to follow!

In the mean time, please enjoy this video. Many people keep asking me what on earth the thing in the video is meant to be...well it isn't a fish! It's a worm...that has come out of a book....a bookworm??! Get it?!

I think it is probably best you just use your imagination as I have quite clearly done!

Thanks to all of you who have supported all the videos and keep your eyes and ears peeled for the DVD coming soon!
